As you travel around the globe, this handheld unit lets you share your GPS location and journeys with your loved ones using MapShare, a web-based trip-sharing page. This also means that you can, in the event of any emergency, trigger an interactive SOS message, and you'll actually get help day or night from a global monitoring center using this global satellite network. If you're a long-distance explorer, you'll appreciate its ability to receive marine-specific weather forecasts, so you can make the best judgements concerning your travels. Preloaded with BlueChart g3 coastal charts deliver coverage, clarity and minute map details, and all this comes integrated with existing Garmin and Navionics data. The Garmin GPSMAP 86sci also comes preloaded with the Garmin Explore app, which delivers cloud management of your favorite waypoints and routes. The 86sci can instantly sync up with your boat's chartplotters and instruments to display moment-to-moment marine systems and boat data. Take control of the boat's navigation using the autopilot app. With it you can change your boat's heading, engage pattern steering, or begin to follow a pre-existing GPS route from anywhere on the boat. While traveling greater distances, the adjustable GPS filter can automatically smooth out your speeds and heading indicators for more accurate tracking. Fusion-link audio delivers remote operation of select onboard Fusion marine products. ABS sensors including an altimeter for elevation date, a barometer for weather coverage, and a 3-axis electronic compass keep you fully informed.
